I’m sure that by now we have all learned that it is very important to do research on our leads.

Generic cold emailing days are over and email personalization is the next big thing.

First, it’s important to do your share, do the research on your prospects and prepare a tailor-made copy. This article will help you to create highly personalized campaigns at scale.

How to start with email personalization?

For this purpose, you will need to have your CSV. file with prospects’ contact details ready to be imported in Autoklose.

Before we start with the research data input in a CSV. file, let’s try to come up with the copy for our email template. By doing this first, you will quickly realize what custom fields you’ll need for your email, and make sure you fill in the CSV. file with all the necessary data. Then, put them all in the spreadsheet with appropriate headers.

Here’s an example of the template I’m going to use for presentation purposes:

As you can see, it involves numerous custom fields like {{Research 1}}. The recommendation is to customize both the subject line and the body of the email.

And now, here’s the example of my CSV. file with some dummy data I created to show you how to work with data personalization:

As soon as our CSV database is ready, it’s time for Autoklose to take over.

Just click upload CSV. file, and choose the CSV database you created for our cold email campaign:

After you upload the file, Autoklose will ask you which columns from your file should represent the corresponding contact fields in your email. Just take a look below how I matched the fields:

After the mapping part, we just need to confirm the import by clicking on the Add to Campaign button and Autoklose will show you how many contacts have been imported successfully, right next to the number of the existing and invalid ones:

Now let me show you how this will look like, take a look at the preview of my actual personalized emails:

Even though I used the very same template for the email for both myself and my colleague, they do not look like automated bulk emails, and that is the goal.

Why is this important?

In order to send a personalized email, it’s crucial to get to know the person we’re sending the email to. This requires time, so you’ll need to invest some of it to research your target group and create the email copy that will prompt them to reply to your email. A personalized email needs to reflect that you care about your prospects, and if you really want to build some meaningful relationships, personalization is a must.

You can avoid doing this manually, that is, for one contact at the time and endlessly copy-pasting the content by automating the sending process with Autoklose.

If you want to go further with this, you can also personalize your video and visual content as well.
This article will give you some helpful tips on how to include personal videos and links for each recipient in particular.
