From time to time you just have to remove contacts from a campaign or manually change their status to stop sending emails to them.
Common use cases are:
- The same prospect replied back to your campaign using a different email, so you have to manually remove them from receiving additional follow-ups;
- A prospect replied back using a social network;
- A prospect is not a fit anymore, etc...
We get it!
And there is a quick and easy solution. Follow these steps, and read this article if you want to know more about contact statuses:
- Log into your Autoklose
- Go to your Campaigns tab
- Select a particular campaign from which you want to remove a prospect (the status/state of the campaign doesn't matter / if it's active or paused or draft)
- Click on the Recipients tab and select the contact.
- Hit the Set Status and choose the desired one from the list.
- Choose a different reply type or remove the recipient completely from your campaign (please note that the recipients will be visible in your campaign for statistical purposes but they will have removed status). Any status that is not active will stop the sequence from further sending for those recipients. Bounced and Unsubscribed remove contacts from the sequence and also add contacts to the Do Not Email list.
What if you do not know, which campaign they belong to?
Then do this:
- Go to your Autoklose Contacts
-
Search by name or email whatever is available to you
- Click on the email address to see single contact details and also which campaigns they belong to.
- Hover over the campaign name in the list and hit "Go to Recipients"
- From this page simply choose the desired Recipient Status, Remove from the campaign, or Add to DNE
Of course, if contact is multiple campaigns at the same time, and you would like to remove it from all campaigns at once and stop future emails, the easiest way is to add contact to the DNE list.
- Go to your Autoklose Contacts
-
Search by name or email whatever is available to you
- Select a contact and hit the "Add to DNE" button.

Campaigns with the Inbox Rotation function a bit differently. Because of this, some recipient statuses should not be changed. When an email account is removed, disconnected, or has unresolved connection issues for a prolonged period, recipients assigned to that account will get Campaign Stopped status. For such contacts, the sequence will not continue even if the status is switched back to Active. This change may affect campaign status, as it can be stuck in the In Progress, even though all available and scheduled emails are sent out.
